Bengali Association of Victoria is a non-profit and non-political organisation.

The main objectives of the Association are:

• To promote goodwill at large
   
• To promote Bengali culture such as literature, language, music, dance and drama amongst the Bengali community and other communities in Victoria and elsewhere
   
• To maintain close collaboration with other social and cultural organisations in Victoria and elsewhere
   
• To hold social, cultural and religious events
   
• To provide assistance to newly arrived Bengali Immigrants and visitors to Victoria
   
• To maintain close co-operation with government departments and other voluntary organisations dealing with ethnic affairs
   
• To provide community welfare services (voluntary or otherwise)
   
• To provide inter-organisational information services
