Saraswati Puja 2011

This year's Saraswati puja was organized on Saturday 12 February 2011 in Glen Waverley Community Centre.

In the morning, followed by anjali and a Prasad of Fruits, Sultana, Halwa, Laddu and Makha Prasad; there was a sit-n-colour for children, and a quiz contest.

Subjects of the sit-n-colour were:

• Maa Saraswati
• Veena
• Swan
• Chandmala

Highlights of the quiz were:

• Landmarks from Melbourne and Kolkata
• Structures from around the world
• Sports
• Superhero
• Movies

Lunch was a great Khuchuri-bhog with Labra, Panpor, Achaar and Kalakand.

The evening was vibrant with various cultural programs and participated entirely by children:

• Fancy Dress: Children dressed like Raja Rammohan, Michael Madhusudan, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Sarada Ma and two of them dressed as Swami Vivekananda!
• Sukumar Ray's: Satpatra, Hingshutider Gaan and Khai Khai
• Sukumar Ray's famous drama: Abaak Jalpaas

This was followed by a Prize Distribution, where evere participant got a prize! Dinner was Polau, Chholar Daal, Kofta and Rasmalai.
